rustic chic: natural wood siding

Maybe because I'm back home in the Midwestern U.S., after having been living in Australia for several months, I'm finding myself appreciating American home styles, with a fresh perspective. One of the styles I'm really into right now is cedar wood siding. There is something comforting and warm about the natural look of wood exteriors. I especially like cedar siding paired with crisp white trim and big beautiful windows. I'm not sure if cedar siding, or any type of wood siding, would be available in Australia, but it doesn't hurt to daydream of having an American-style home in my adopted country. Besides, I'm not really the trying-to-fit-in kinda gal, anyway.

outdoor living

Although summer is winding down here in the States, I know those of you living in warmer climates will be spending lots of time enjoying the outdoors, for a while longer. So here is a little outdoor living inspiration for you. I'm hoping to be to returning to Australia, in a few months, to be with my fiance, when it will be summer there, --and nice and hot! (Too hot, really!)
