Bonnie & Clyde

The first time I watched the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, I remember thinking that Faye Dunaway, as Bonnie, looked absolutely stunning in it, and I almost didn't mind that her character was a total nutter. She just smoulders in every scene. Warren Beatty played her perfectly charming partner in crime, looking dapper in well-cut three-piece suits and fedoras. The glamour and sexiness of Bonnie and Clyde contrasts brilliantly with the violence of the story, inspiring fashion ever since. Definitely one of my all-time favorite films.

I also love the moody song "Bonnie and Clyde", sung by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot. You can almost smell the cigarette smoke. Watch the video here.

Sophia Loren movie quote

Yesterday, I caught a snippet of a Sophia Loren movie playing on TV, and found the lines amusing. Her character was having a pillow talk sort of conversation with her younger sister.

She said "I think Michelle is a subversive."

"What does that mean?" her younger sister asked.

"That's someone with a good heart who doesn't like to work much."

Well, yeah.

You know what they say... "If work was so great, the rich would keep it for themselves."

Eva Green in "Cracks"

I haven't seen the film "Cracks" yet, but it seems interesting. Eva Green certainly is gorgeous in these 1920s-style ensembles. The clothes alone make me want to see this movie. I love that era.
