We are having some pretty wicked weather here this weekend. The gloom of rain, wind, and grey skies are making me feel the need for a little cheering up. What better way to lift one's spirits than with a dose of color and pattern? I feel better already. Now, let's pour a drink and see if we have any volunteers to play that lovely piano.

Stripes never fail to catch my eye. There is something about the bold contrast of lines, especially when in black and white, that always looks chic, to me.

Ann Taylor Spring 2011

I'm loving the looks I'm seeing for spring 2011 by Ann Taylor. Her line is always so classic and chic, and this season is no exception! Tailored and pretty at the same time. And I just love the flowers and trees in the ads. So romantic. Have a fabulous weekend, everybody!

i heart stripes

I'm craving a striped 3/4 sleeve top, preferably grey and/ or navy blue. After seeing Audrey Tautou wearing a striped top in the film "Coco" about Coco Chanel, I've been wanting one. So chic, non? I especially like the top with the adorable bow on the back.

Even more fab would be a full-skirted striped cotton sundress, like the one featured in the vintage pic above. But that would have to wait until warm weather returns, I suppose.

Eva Green in "Cracks"

I haven't seen the film "Cracks" yet, but it seems interesting. Eva Green certainly is gorgeous in these 1920s-style ensembles. The clothes alone make me want to see this movie. I love that era.
